Following on from our post about rogue appliances and the extra training we are carrying out with our engineers to keep an eye out for them, here’s more evidence from our news feed that this is a growing problem in the UK! Cheap online marketplaces are only making matters worse with unsafe plugs that are now widely available online.
We test every plug we find on site, whether it’s attached to an appliance, or just a cable. And we do this by opening the plug, checking that all connections are secure, and testing the appliance with a properly calibrated appliance testing meter.
Make sure you know what’s being used on your premises (or in your home/letting property/care home!) by engaging a thorough PAT testing firm with five star customer reviews, and receiving a comprehensive list of appliances for your health & safety records.
Your insurance company will thank you for it.
